I went through a lot of brainstorming and praying for the name of my blog. I wanted a name that had depth and meaning, giving the blog a sense of purpose as well as good branding. From a design point, I knew having a overall good sense of branding was truly important to me as a designer— which meant creating and designing things with a sense of great quality, craftsmanship, and identity.
So finally, it came to me.. Still and Mundane, the idea of being rooted and grounded (not being swept away by circumstances) in the midst of the day to day. I knew not only for you guys but for me, the name itself would definitely be a constant reminder to have the mindset of focusing on the Lord and not getting all riled up in the problems we can face each day. It's hard but having victory with the One who is on top of all circumstances can bring comfort and hope in our lives. It really does change my perspective of how I see each day— to be present. So, creating a name that stuck with me was a big deal and something I was highly excited about! You can say, I was jumping with joy with a smile that went from cheek to cheek. I knew I was getting somewhere. But man, it felt like naming a child, but of course not to that extent. Ha!
Now comes the branding process which is my all time favorite (sly grin with air fives). I wanted to create an experience that depicted a sense of simplicity with clean lines and timeless qualities. So of course, I instantly went on Pinterest, created a secret board, and started pinning away things that grabbed my attention— from typography to fashion images to magazine covers and product packaging— you can say I went a little pin-crazy. Then, I started thinking what my style was. What is my style you ask?
